Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

Huntington Beach Upper Cervical Chiropractic (“we,” “us,” “our”) runs www.hbucc.com. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and by phone and text, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a consultation on our website, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, a short description of your main health concern, and how long you have had it. If you call or text us, we receive your phone number and the content of your messages, and calls may be recorded.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Videos. Videos on our site are served from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The video player loads from YouTube as the video comes near your screen, even if you never press play, so YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser details. YouTube may also store information on your device, especially once you press play. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that.

Spam protection. Our consultation request form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to tell people apart from automated programs. When you visit the page with this form, Turnstile runs in your browser and Cloudflare processes technical information about your connection and browser, such as your IP address and browser type. This happens whether or not you submit the form. Cloudflare uses this information to detect and block bots and to improve its bot-detection service, and states that it does not use it to identify, profile, or target individuals. We do not send Cloudflare your name, your contact details, or the health concern you describe. You can read more in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Printable patient forms. Our new-patient and accident forms save what you type in your web browser, on your device, so you can come back to them. Your entries stay there until you press Reset on the form or clear your browser's data. Nothing you type in these forms is sent to us: you print the form and bring it to your visit. If you use a shared or public computer, press Reset when you are done.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • respond to your consultation request and schedule your visit;
  • call, email, or text you about your request and your appointments;
  • improve how we answer calls and requests, including by reviewing call recordings for quality and training;
  • keep our website and systems secure; and
  • meet our legal and professional obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Health information

The concern you describe on our form is health information, and we treat it confidentially. Once you become a patient, the information in your patient record is also protected by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which we give you at your first visit and which explains your rights under HIPAA and California law. If this policy and that notice ever differ about your patient record, the Notice of Privacy Practices applies.

How information is shared

We share your information only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the practice, such as our website and database hosting, email delivery, and phone and text service (CallRail). They may use your information only to provide their services to us, except that Cloudflare also uses the spam-protection information described above to improve its bot detection.
  • Legal and safety recipients, when the law requires it or when needed to protect someone's health or safety.
  • A successor, if our practice is sold or merged, subject to this policy.

Text messaging: we do not share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

How long we keep information

We keep consultation requests, call records, and messages as long as we need them to respond to you and run the practice. Once you are a patient, we keep your records for as long as California law requires for healthcare records.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to staff who need it. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive details beyond what our form asks for.

Your choices

  • Texts: reply STOP to any text from us to stop receiving texts. See “SMS and text messaging” in our Terms and Conditions.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: you can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.
  • Do Not Track: because we don't track visitors across other websites, our site does not change its behavior in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
  • California residents: California law lets you ask whether we share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing. We don't.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them online. A parent or guardian should request a consultation on a child's behalf.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
